'Tis a new year already on the Hebrew Calendar (well, has been for nearly a month now), and 'tis also high time I've updated.  I'm working on it. ;)  Xanga, I stay away too long too often.

  • All right then, I suppose now's as good a time as ever to jump back in here with an update.

Got up much earlier than usual this morning to drive Ben to school (since I thought I'd be nice and not make him ride the bus. . .or try to drive illegally).  We have a fourth household car that he gets dibs on to drive to school, but somehow we still don't have the official license plate and the car dealership one has since expired, so. . . :P  not supposed to be driving that one.  And that leaves one car available until parents come home from work, so I drive Ben.  We had a bit of a tiff this morning about leaving lights on or off, which I'd normally just dismiss, but I think because it was early and I had that still-tired crankiness (he probably did, too), we got snappy.  But then something on the radio amused us, and when I dropped him off he thanked me and apologized for "yelling."  He's basically a good brother. ;]

I've got that slightly cloudy-head feeling here at work.  No work to be done at the moment, so I figured, "Hey! That means some Xanga time."

My dear friend, Anna, has recently influenced me to try more energy drinks, like Rockstar.  I've had three in my whole life so far, beginning last Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and there's one chilling in the office fridge for later today.   I'm genuinely going to need it later, too.  I know it's not good to get hooked on those or consume more than 3 a day (so the side of the cans warn), but that burst of energy really helps in very drowsy times when I can't just take a nap.   True, if I'd just gotten sufficient sleep in the first place, wouldn't be worrying about exceeding a daily taurine intake. . .but since sleep is already lacking. . .bring on the Rockstar.

I've recently signed up for Gmail, also mostly thanks to Anna's influence. ;]  Juno's ads were getting on my last nerve, and though I'll still have my Juno account on hand for a while yet (until everyone else important has my Gmail instead), so far I really really like Gmail over Juno.  A couple months ago, I would've had a bit more sentimental attachment to Juno.  My Juno email was the first personal email I'd ever had... got it midway through highschool.   Lately, though, I've wanted to move on with my life in various areas, including email, so I move on with no worries about leaving behind the old one.  And maybe it's a newbie thing, but right now I love my "Teahouse" theme, watching that little fox go about his daily business.  Even if there are, like, maybe 7 set scenes for the entire day, I think it's too cute.  No dumb disgusting "lose stomach fat" ads to bother my peripheral vision, either, yay.

I'm about 1/4 way (maybe 1/3 by now?) through reading The Time Traveler's Wife, and so far, I'm really liking it and am quite looking forward to seeing what the film version is like. :)

Also reading Pride & Prejudice and Zombies, but I've taken a break to read more TTWP&P&Zombies is amusing, and close enough to the original in some places to retain that Jane Austen-ish charm (for me, because I like Jane Austen's novels) while throwing in the zainy zombieness and male author jabs at the story.  Even comes with a few illustrations of zombie-slaying action.

. . .Ah, I have work to do now.  Unfamiliar territory, too. :P  After all this time working here, it's something I've never worked on.  Hope I don't screw something up.

    *5 minutes later*
Okayyy.... It seems I might have to use a different computer to perform this task.  Or have someone else sign into the program, because I am missing a key element to do this stuff over here. :P   Ugh. Monday.

    *about 3 hours later*
Ah, much better.  I've returned to my regularly-scheduled office task of scanning, etc. And only about an hour more to go before I can leave the office, pick up Ben at school, and go home for some rest.  I really need to go shopping, too... groceries and various sundry items.  :P  Don't really feel like shopping, though.  My current state is awake and carrying on without too much difficulty, but I'm still tired on the inside and prone to cranky thoughts if I let them develop.

Even drank that can of Rockstar, but that energy buzz lasted about an hour.  I don't think I'll be getting the "Juiced" (mango, orange, passion fruit) flavor again. . .'twas all right, but not my fav.  Actually the berry-flavored blue-can low-carb Rockstar was really good. . .as were the two coffee kinds.  Mm-hmm.

    *sigh*
    *yawn*

About 45 minutes left now. :)  I need to sleep more than 5 hours, it turns out.  Took me at least an hour to fall asleep last night, though. . .so I don't suppose I got 5 hours, really.  Probably a little over 4.

    One last random thought:

The site faceinhole.com is pretty fun.  Not a fan of the lewd photos, but many others are great.  Know what would make my day?  If I could look like a cute skinny fairy with blue wings.  Oh, wait a second. . .I can!

    What the hey:

    facehole-hada

Haha!  My face is a bit blue/greener than the rest of "me". . .but I can live with that.

  • 1 Month, 14 Days...

I have missed Xanga and don't know why I've stayed away so long.  An update is much overdue.  Since last I posted, I have traveled to Amsterdam, traveled to Oregon, and have even met someone (you know, when you meet someone...although that's still kind of figurative.  haha).  Details to come a bit later!

I looooove this new theme I found!
